Vivek Durai is a transactional lawyer with specific expertise in technology, telecom and media matters. He also assists clients on cross-border transactions, project finance, joint ventures and foreign collaborations and industrial development projects including special economic zones.
Vivek is an alumna of the National Law School of India University, Bangalore having graduated in 2000 and was admitted to practice in India in 2001. As a student he has interned with Justice S. Muralidhar (then an advocate at the Delhi High Court and Supreme Court), Kamini Jaiswal and Infosys Technologies Limited. Prior to founding Atman Law Partners, Vivek worked with several top-tier Indian law firms in Mumbai (Bombay) and Bengaluru (Bangalore). He has also worked inhouse at one of India’s largest conglomerates.
As convenor of the Computer and Law Society at NLSIU Vivek conceived and organized Consilience 2000, a national conference focusing on the emerging Knowledge Economy. In 2002 he was one of three candidates for election as the Domain Name Supporting Organization’s nominee to the Board of Directors of ICANN.
Vivek is also a python programmer and is currently engaged in building software that interprets commercial contracts.

Represented a Fortune 500 company in an internal compliance investigation in its Indian subsidiary
Assisted an overseas construction major in its joint venture arrangements in India
Represented the developer of a large multi-product special economic zone in Tamil Nadu in connection with various corporate and commercial matters
Represented a loyalty services focused startup in its Series A financing and provided assistance with its commercial contracts with partners
Advised a Bangalore-based direct marketing company on its proposed e-wallet system
Represented an NGO in securing a domain name through the .IN domain name dispute resolution procedure
